Pacman fails to intimidate Solis

SAN ANTONIO, Texas — If Saturday night’s event at the Alamodome is a body-building contest, then, Manny Pacquiao, gets the top prize, according to his Mexican foe Jorge Solis, who nevertheless predicted a major upset.

Solis said he wasn’t intimidated by the sculpted physique that Pacquiao unveiled during Friday afternoon’s official weighin. So ripped was Pacquiao that he looked as though his body was culled from the fragments of a metal ball.

“It’s all about technique and skill for you to win a boxing match not a beautiful body,” said the 27-year-old from Guadalajara.

Solis, who even Mexican hardcore fight fans don’t know, said he prepared hard for Pacquiao and that he will win the bout either by knockout or decision.

“I am very confident of my chances,” added Solis, who, had to make a few tries before making the super-featherweight limit of 130 lbs.

Solis has puzzled observers the past few days owing to his seemingly cool composure despite the fact that he will going up against the fight game’s most vicious hitter.
