Donaire guarantees KO win

LAS VEGAS ? Nonito Donaire Jr. is gunning for no less than a knockout win when he defends his WBO super bantamweight title against undefeated prospect Jessie Magdaleno at the Thomas & Mack Center here on Saturday (Sunday in Manila).

At Monday?s media workout, Donaire said the only way Magdaleno will survive him in the ring is if he wears something to protect his head.

?It’s never going for 12 rounds. Unless you have a helmet, then you can probably take it. But he doesn’t have it,? said Donaire.

Oozing with confidence, the 33-year-old fighter also showcased a war cry in front of the press in which he declares himself ?limitless.?

?I am a warrior! I claim victory!? Donaire yelled.

A prospect who also happens to be a brash one.

Donaire reacted to the 24-year-old Magdaleno?s claim that the champion is old and already past his prime.

?He can talk all he wants. The big difference is the silence that I have is because of the confidence that I have,? the Filipino-American fighter continued.

Donaire said that cockiness will be the cause of Magdaleno?s downfall.

?The more you speak, the more that you become less of what you’re gonna be. Because you’re gonna talk yourself in there, and that’s what he’s been doing,? he added.

Donaire and Magdaleno will slug it out in the undercard of Manny Pacquiao?s fight with Jessie Vargas.
