MANILA, Philippines– The man suspected of bringing Angelito “Lito” Sisnorio Jr. to Thailand finally came forward Thursday to deny he had anything to do with the boxer’s death.
Matchmaker Ranilo Terrania, also known as Bong Obero, said he ended his ties with Sisnorio last year and had no part in the ill-fated boxer’s final fight in Bangkok.
Sisnorio died last March 21 several hours after getting knocked out in the fourth round by Thailand’s former world champion Chatchai Sasakul due to “bleeding in the brain.”
Terrania said former RP super flyweight champion Ric Paciones may have helped Sisnorio in Bangkok.
Meanwhile, a team of agents from the National Bureau of Investigation headed by special investigator James Tosoc arrived in Koronadal City Thursday to gather evidence that could help pin down the people liable for Sisnorio’s death.
Tosoc and his team will interview Terrania, Paciones and Sisnorio’s former manager Gemmil Contayoso.
