Former world champion Edgar Sosa is neck-deep in training in Mexico City, looking determined to ruin Filipino pride Donnie Nietes? planned invasion of the flyweight ranks on Sept. 24 in Carson, California.
Reports from the Mexican capital say that Sosa, who made eleven successful defenses of the world light-fly title from 2007 until 2009, is being trained by Jorge Barrera, brother of Mexican legend Marco Antonio Barrera, in the area of Iztacalco.
Mexican fight scribe Salvador Rodriguez tells the Bulletin that Sosa?s trainers know Nietes very well since some of them were involved when Nietes fought Moises Fuentes, another Mexican fighter the Negros-born has beaten convincingly.
