After having been waxed by Sergio Frias in the second round in Birmingham, AL, this is what an apparently delusional Vic Darchinyan (42-9-1) had to say:
?It was the first time that I?ve been knocked out in my 25 years of boxing?.I know I threw a punch and he just caught me. I can?t believe that happened.?
No, Vic, you have been badly knocked out before. In fact, Nonito Donaire sent you Down Under twice. Jesus Cuellar also did it last year and Nicholas Walters put the hatchet to you in 2014. These were not just stoppages; they were head snapping, career-altering-type Knock Outs.
From former World Champion and ferocious puncher to a 40-year-old-notch on someone?s? belt, the ride is all-too familiar and happens to the best. But the painful truth is, the ?Raging Bull? is shot and its past time to get out. The temptation to keep fighting is strong, but the result can ruin a legacy.
