JOEBERT Alvarez keeps himself busy for a potential big fight when he takes on Michael Cartagena in a six-rounder today at the Kissimmee Civic Center in Florida.
The fight will be in the undercard of the bout between former world title contenders Orlando Cruz and Alejandro Valdez.
?This is an activity fight,? Alvarez?s coach Nonito Donaire Sr. told Sun.Star Cebu. ?So far Joebert?s conditioning is good for this fight.?
The 26-year-old Alvarez, the World Boxing Organization (WBO) NABO flyweight champion, is coming off a huge victory promising prospect Jonathan Gonzalez. He knocked Gonzalez in the sixth round last March in Puerto Rico.
Alvarez, called ?Little Pacman?, is currently ranked No. 7 in the WBO and No. 10 in the International Boxing Federation (IBF), wherein the champion is fellow Filipino Johnriel Casimero.
