WORLD Boxing Organization No. 1 ranked bantamweight Marlon Tapales is close to signing a promotional contract with the Philippines? biggest boxing promotional outfit ALA Promotions.
ALA Promotions? matchmaker Edito Villamor recently met up with Tapales? manager Rex ?Wakee? Salud, and so far everything points to the direction of the 24-year-old promising prospect inking a deal with ALA Promotions.
?Wakee told Edito that they were very interested as it?s a chance for everyone to see Tapales fight on national and international TV,? ALA Promotions president Michael Aldeguer told Sun.Star Cebu.
ALA Promotions have shown interest in Tapales for a long time now. He was once featured in an ALA Promtions event back in 2012 in an event headlined by a world title fight between AJ Banal and Pungluang Sor Singyu at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.
Tapales is fighting Sor Singyu tomorrow in Thailand for the latter?s WBO bantamweight belt. After that, Aldeguer and Salud can continue with the negotiations of the deal.
?We have not talked about the details yet as he has a big fight coming up. We told Wakee, win or lose, ALA Promotions would like to help Tapales,? said Aldeguer.
Tapales is one of the most promising bantamweights in the country. The problem, however, is that he doesn?t have enough exposure, and ALA Promotions can give him that.
Aldeguer expects Tapales to be one of the world beaters from the Philippines.
