SEVEN days to go before fight night and Mexican boxers Raul “Rayito” Garcia, Juan “El Pe?ita” Jimenez, and Maximino Flores are arriving today, May 23, in Bacolod City.
The Pinoy Pride 36: “A Legend in the Making” challengers will face their Filipino opponents in the May 28 encounter at the University of St. La Salle Coliseum.
Garcia, a former WBO and IBF minimumweight champion, will challenge defending junior flyweight titlist, and longest reigning Filipino world champion Donnie “Ahas” Nietes of Murcia.
Garcia is backed by his impressive record of 38 victories, three defeats and a draw, with 23 knockouts. Nietes’s 37 wins, one loss, and four draws with 21 knockouts do not pale in comparison.
Jimenez (22-9 with 15 KOs) will test reigning WBC International Superflyweight champion “King” Arthur Villanueva (28-1 with 14 KOs) of Bago City for the WBO Asia-Pacific Bantamweight Championship.
Late substitute Flores (19-2 with 13 KOs) will face IBF Rank No.4 and two-time world challenger Milan “Milenyo” Melindo (33-2 with 12 KOs) of Cagayan de Oro for a 10-round clash at 113 lbs.
Fight tickets are pegged at P 3,000 – VIP 1st Row; P2,000 – VIP 2nd Row; P1,000 – VIP 3rd Row; P700 – VIP 4th Row; P300 – Lower Box; and P100 balcony.
