MANILA, Philippines – The senatorial ranking of boxing icon Manny Pacquiao of the United Nationalist Alliance climbed early Wednesday morning, pulling down the rankings of his rivals Ana Theresia “Risa” Hontiveros and Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan.
Based on unofficial, partial results from 94.77 percent of clustered precincts nationwide reporting as of 1:06 a.m., May 11, 2016, Pacquiao’s votes reached 15,413,442, dislodging Hontiveros from the seventh place. The Akbayan candidate garnered 15,402,392 votes. She is now on the eighth spot.
Meanwhile, Liberal Party’s Pangilinan, who previously placed eighth in the race, went down to ninth with 15,372,934 votes.
The rankings of the other nine senatorial candidates in the Magic 12 did not change. Franklin Drilon (LP) remained the frontrunner with 17,972,631 votes, followed by Joel Villanueva (LP) with 17,923,978 votes.
Third is Vicente “Tito” Sotto (Nationalist People’s Coalition) with 16,671,967 votes, followed by Panfilo “Ping” Lacson (Independent) with 16,379,738 votes, and Richard “Dick” Gordon (Independent) with 16,149,524 votes.
Sixth is Juan Miguel “Migz” Zubiri (Independent) with 15,519,658 votes.
Tenth is Sherwin Gatchalian (NPC) who garnered 14,548,512 votes, followed by Ralph Recto (LP) with 13,757,631 votes.
Leila de Lima (LP) remains on the 12th spot with 13,649,560 votes.
