Aussie in fight card

UNBEATEN Aussie prospect Paul Fleming, former world title challenger Rocky Fuentes and hard-hitting up-and-comer Jeo Santisima are some of the names that have been added to the much-anticipated boxing show this month in Cebu City.

The boxing show co-promoted by Top Rank and ALA Promotions, dubbed ?The Time Has Come: Donaire vs. Bedak, is headlined by Filipino superstar Nonito Donaire Jr. defending his World Boxing Organization (WBO) super bantamweight belt against former Olympian Zsolt Bedak on April 23 at the Cebu City Sports Center.

The 27-year-old Fleming, a former Olympian, takes on Mexican Miguel Angel Gonzalez for the World Boxing Council (WBC) Continental Americas super featherweight title in the event?s main supporting bout.

KO loss

Fleming is one of Top Ranks? prospects. He won the interim World Boxing Organization (WBO) Asia-Pacific super featherweight strap with a unanimous decision over Chaiyong Sithsaithong.

Gonzalez is an experienced Mexican fighter and owns a win over former world title challenger Fernando Beltran. He, however, is coming off a technical knockout loss to undefeated Eduardo Torres.

Fleming is 21-0 with 14 knockouts, while the 27-year-old Gonzalez is 22-7-1 with 12 knockouts.

Fuentes (36-8-2, 21 KOs), on the other hand, will be in an eight-rounder with fellow Cebuano Romnick Magos (12-5, 7 KOs), while Santisima (9-2, 8 KOs) trades leathers with Thai Tabthong Tor Buamas (14-3, 12 KOs) also for eight rounds.

Also in the main card are rising stars Mark Magsayo and Jason Pagara.

Magsayo (13-0, 10 KOs) squares off with former world title contender Chris Avalos (26-4, 19 KOs) for the vacant WBO International featherwight strap, while Pagara (37-2, 23 KOs) slugs it out with Mexican Miguel Zamudio (35-8-1, 21 KOs) in a 10-round bout.
