Back in 1964, it was predicted that Cassius Clay?s would be slaughtered by ?fearsome? but inactive Sonny Liston. The writers and journalists called Cassius a nut case who was in for a brutal and even ?deserved? beating for his brashness and truculence. After Clay stopped the ?invincible? Liston, the pundits quickly claimed Ali?s opponents had been limited. It took some time before this viewpoint was changed.
These same kinds of journalists also predicted a similar fate for Tyson Fury against the equally invincible Wladimir Klitschko and they too were wrong. Here is just one jarring example:

“I’m a big Christian, I believe in my faith. And I said before the world ends, homosexuality needs to be made legal, abortions need to be made legal, and pedophilia needs to be made legal before the world ends. That’s just my opinion. Two of them’s (sic) already legal. Homosexuality is legal and so is abortions (sic). So the only thing that needs to be made legal is pedophilia. And then when that one gets made legal, then we’re in trouble, the end is very, very close then. I’m waiting on Armageddon; I’m waiting for the world to end. I can’t wait for Jesus to come back, because I’m going straight to heaven with him.
“That’s why the comment’s wrong. I’m a religious person, I believe in the Lord, Jesus Christ. And the devil is so strong now that the devil doesn’t want me to talk about Jesus, so they try and twist it and say I hate people.”
The Gypsy giant seems to be saying, ?There?s no bad publicity. Just write a story about me and spell my name correctly.? So far, he has been spot on even if the content of what he has said is reprehensible.
Ricardo Mayorga was outrageous in a mischievous Peck?s Bad Boy sort of way. It remains to be seen whether the Traveler can come off in a similar manner.
