American Terence Crawford, one of three fighters being eyed to face Manny Pacquiao in April next year, is keeping his fingers crossed.
Crawford told ESPN over the weekend that he is thrilled about landing the Pacquiao payday and even made a concession to face the Filipino at welterweight.
Even though he campaigns at super-lightweight (140 lbs), Crawford feels a Pacquiao fight could be contested at his weight.
?Pacquiao is not a big guy,? Crawford said, knowing that Pacquiao is small for a welterweight (147 lbs).
In fact, Pacquiao?s most devastating showing was at 140 when he flattened Ricky Hatton with one punch in May 2009.
?He comes in at 142, 144 and doesn?t rehydrate a lot. Whoever they put me in there I?ll fight.?
Crawford, 28, has a 27-0 win-loss card with 19 KOs and is fresh from crushing Dierry Jean of Canada, a one-time Pacquiao sparmate.
Pacquiao has yet to make a decision about the details of his comeback bout although an announcement looks imminent given that Hall of Fame promoter Bob Arum is asking him to decide the soonest.
Arum has penciled Pacquiao?s ring return on April 9 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
