Arum sets weekend deadline for Pacquiao

Manny Pacquiao is set to make a crucial decision this week and it?s not politics but boxing.

Hall of Fame promoter Bob Arum has dispatched the fighter?s Canadian adviser to Israel to help speed things up.

?Mike Koncz left last night for Israel carrying videos of the three fighters,? Arum said.

Pacquiao is on vacation with his wife Jinkee and select family members in Israel and Koncz and Arum expect him to make his choice by the end of the week as to who he will face in his comeback fight on April 9 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

There are no frontrunners among Amir Khan (31-3 with 19 KOs), Terence Crawford (27-0 with 19 KOs) and Tim Bradley (33-1-1 with 13 KOs), according to Arum, whose only wish is for Pacquiao to do the pick ?as time is ticking.?

Even if he had fought Bradley twice, Pacquiao will look at the American champion since the fighter is coming off a resounding win over Brandon Rios last week.

Khan is also being eyed as the British puncher shares a long and storied rivalry with Pacquiao back in the days when he was still with Freddie Roach.

Crawford, said to be the most dangerous of the three, is the new kid on the block and is the kind of guy Pacquiao desperately needs to victimize to signal his rousing return as an elite fighter.

Based on Arum?s timetable, Pacquiao will start training camp a bit earlier than usual ?because he is coming off a long layoff.?
