Expect fireworks to happen when 3-time world champion Ana ?The Hurricane? Julaton and kickboxer Irina Mazepa of Russia trade shots in Manila this December, said the Filipino-American fighter’s striking coach.
“It’s a match-up we have been waiting for since last year. One thing about Ana Julaton is she has never turned down a fight and when [ONE Championship executive] Matt Hume sent her the agreement versus Irina Mazepa a couple weeks ago, Ana signed it right away,” said Julaton?s striking coach Angelo Reyes.
Mazepa stopped highly-regarded Ann ?Athena? Osman by using her striking skills to topple the Malaysian via technical knockout earlier this month.
?Irina Mazepa is a powerful striker for sure. To see what she did to Osman in Malaysia in front of a sold-out hometown crowd was spectacular and proved Mazepa likes to fight as the visitor,? said Reyes.

But Reyes said Julaton has been working with highly esteemed mixed martial arts (MMA) coach Ricky Lundell all year. He added that the Filipino-American is eager to show off her improvements inside the cage.
“To witness Coach Ricky and Ana working together is beautiful and I can’t wait for our kababayan to see the best MMA version of Ana Julaton we have ever seen. Manila will definitely see an explosive match,? he said.
Julaton versus Mazepa is included in “ONE: Spirit of Champions,” which headlines the inaugural ONE heavyweight title fight between the Philippines? Brandon ?The Truth? Vera and Britain?s Chi Lewis ?Chopper? Parry.
The card will be staged at the Mall of Asia Arena on 11 December 2015.
