Oscar De La Hoya came out fighting as he looked ahead to his showdown with Floyd Mayweather.
The ‘Golden Boy’ and the ‘Pretty Boy’ were both in Miami on Friday ahead of Super Bowl XLI.
And De La Hoya says after listening to jibes from his opponent he’s now fully motivated for their superfight in Las Vegas on May 5.
Tickets for the bout, the cheapest retailing at a whopping $350, sold out in just three hours.
And it now sounds like the paying customers could get value for money on the night.
De La Hoya said: “I’ll tell you what. Floyd Mayweather made a big mistake today. He started talking negatively about me, and that’s just what I needed. It got me motivated. For that reason I’m glad I came today.”
Mayweather meanwhile was his usual brash self as he looked ahead to the clash.
“I’ll stop him whenever he gets in my way. I’m the best fighter on the planet.”
