Four of the finest boxers in ALA boxing stable are ready to face their individual opponents in a weekend boxing event in Carson, California dubbed “Philippines vs The World.”
The four Filipino ring warriors are headed by flyweight king Donnie Nietes, the longest reigning Filipino flyweight champion. They include Jason Pagara, Albert Pagara and Mark Magsayo. Nietes will stake his WBO and The Ring light flyweight titles against Juan “Pinky” Alejo (21-3-0), who scored 21 straight wins since losing to Jesus Limones in 2012. ?I?m very happy because I?ve been given the opportunity to fight in the US and finally showcase my talent there,? said Nietes, who is fighting for the first time in the US. Jason (36-2-0, 22KOs), who won the vacant WBO International Light Welterweight title against Mexico’s Rosbel Montoya in 2012, will be facing Santos Benavides (25-7-2, 19 KOs) of Nicaragua. Jason’s brother Albert (24-0-0, 17 KOs), who is the reigning IBF Inter-Continental Super bantamweight champion, will collide with William “Chirizo” Gonzalez (27-5-0, 23 KOs) of Nicaragua for the vacant WBO International Super Bantamweight title. Magsayo (11-0-0, 9 KOs) will face Yardley Suarez (13-0-0, 8 KOs) of Mexico for the IBF Youth featherweight title.
