The fight between Klitschko and Fury is fast approaching. Baring anything unforeseen, the big guys are going to get it on?
It sometimes appears as if Tyson Fury has been calling out Wladimir Klitschko from the time he was a little boy.
Appearances, however, can be deceiving.
But the fight many of us have been longing to see, for reasons that run the gamut from A to B, is a step closer, a giant step closer today that it was earlier in the week.
Yesterday in Panama, the Championships Committee of the World Boxing Association placed the call to action which many of us have been waiting for, that action being between WBA/IBF/WBO heavyweight Wladimir Klitchko (64-3, 53 KOs), aka Dr. Steelhammer, and his very big and perhaps very talented official challenger, undefeated Tyson Fury (24-0, 18 KOs).
Purse bids will be held on Monday, July 6, 2015, at 11:00 am at the WBA offices on the Avenida Aquilino de la Guardia, c / c Calle 47, Edificio Ocean Business Plaza, 14th floor, Office 14-05, Marbella, Panama, Panama.
The purse bid will be conducted by Gilberto Jesus Mendoza, Committee Chairman and Vice President of the WBA, with an anticipated split of 80% for the reigning and defending champion and 20% for the challenger.
