CEBU, Philippines – Cebu’s world-renowned ALA Promotions through its hardworking CEO and President Michael P. Aldeguer is tirelessly and painstakingly working on two major international events that include their much-awaited maiden venture in the United States. Aldeguer said their license to hold events in the US has just been released by California State Athletic Commission, a big boost to their first ever Pinoy pride show in the lucrative US boxing market they plan to launch two months from now in Los Angeles. “Our California license has been released. I’m in the US right now to work on our US events in California,” said Aldeguer. “For this year, we are planning to do three events in the US.” Aldeguer said their inaugural fight card on US soil will be headlined by the undefeated IBF International super bantamweight champion ‘Prince’ Albert Pagara (23-0, 16KOs) this July in LA with no confirmed venue. Aside from their US debut, Aldeguer said they also putting everything in place for their return show in Dubai this August. They initially scheduled it for June 12, but eventually decided to reset it to a later date considering that an event of such magnitude needs ample time for preparation. “Actually there is no postponement because we have not formally launched it yet,” explained Aldeguer. “We are targeting it for August because of a bigger venue. The feedback was tremendous and the public demand to do it again was overwhelming,” said Aldeguer. ” It was also the first successful event held in Dubai so we felt we needed to do it again for the OFWs and the people of Dubai who supported the event beyond expectations.” Aldeguer added that they plan to make the Middle East as their ground to show the world that a Philippine-based company can compete with the world’s best in putting up world-class events. “In the ALA organization, we always think of what the sport of boxing can do for our country and what our country can do for boxing. It’s not just about ALA but the Philippine boxing in general,” said Aldeguer.
