MANILA, Philippines – The House of Representatives will give world boxing idol and Sarangani Rep. Manny Pacquiao a warm welcome, and possibly another citation for a good fight against Floyd Mayweather Jr., Speaker Feliciano Belmonte Jr. said yesterday.
?We?re happy that he?s going to be back,? Belmonte said, adding it was good that Pacquiao?s shoulder injury did not appear to be serious.
Belmonte said he hopes that Pacquiao will find more time for his legislative duties while recuperating from surgery.
The fighting congressman is acting chairman of the House committee on overseas workers affairs, which is expect to lead an inquiry into the case of Mary Jane Veloso, who recently obtained a reprieve from a death sentence handed down by an Indonesian court for drug trafficking.
Belmonte said the chamber might come up with a citation for Pacquiao.

There had been reports that the two boxers wanted a rematch but Mayweather reportedly reversed course and described Pacquiao as ?a sore loser.?
Pacquiao lost a unanimous decision to Mayweather last Saturday (Sunday in Manila) in the richest prize fight in boxing history before undergoing successful surgery on his right shoulder four days later.
But for Manila Mayor Joseph Estrada, it is worth a rematch.
