Juan Leonardo Lanz, writer for the Venezuelan new service ElMeridiano.com.ve, in a recent interview with Edwin Valero reports that the super featherweight might be making his way back to the United States towards the end of the year.
In his interview with Lanz, Valero is quoted as saying, “This year my promoter Mr. Honda has promised me four fights. I already had one and my next fight is scheduled for May 3, we do not have an opponent but Nobuito Honmo is being considered. The idea is for me to fight Manny Pacquiao at the end of they year and after my January 3 fight with Michael Lozada the Nevada Athletic Commission has asked for an MRI so they can review the results.”
Of particular interest are the following comments from Valero, from the same interview.
“Bob Arum, Shelly Finkel, and Oscar De La Hoya have all contacted Mr. Honda about buying half of my contract.”
