It?s that time of the year again, what time you ask? Well none other than the Celebrity Fight Night fundraiser which took place tonight at the JW Marriott Desert Ridge Resort and Spa. Celebrity fight night is recognized as one of the nation?s elite charity events, Celebrity Fight Night is a star-studded evening presented in honor of featured guest and in my opinion, the greatest fighter of all time, Mr. Muhammad Ali. And this year would be no different. Celebrating its 21st year, the Celebrity Fight Night Gala was emcee? d by Grammy Award-winning country music legend, Reba McEntire, who returned as the evening?s emcee for the 10th year. And was here in the Valley of the Sun to also celebrate her birthday. Grammy Award-winning songwriter and producer, David Foster, will served as the musical director for the evening which also happened to be his16th year as the musical director. Celebrities and professional athletes from all over the country joined forces for an evening filled with live auction items. Bruce Arians, Russell Wilson, Gennady Golovkin, Bryant Jennings, Michael Carbajal, and Blake Shelton to name a few were out and about supporting this great cause. Celebrity Fight Night 2015 benefits the Muhammad Ali Parkinson Center at Barrow Neurological Institute. Throughout Celebrity Fight Night?s 20-year history this great charity has raised more than $100 million for the Muhammad Ali Parkinson Center at Barrow Neurological Institute and other charities thanks to the tremendous generosity of celebrities, musicians, athletes, and tv personalities alike, and of course thanks to Jimmy Walker the founder of Celebrity Fight Night. Notes: When I asked Arizona Cardinals head coach, Bruce Arians to name one player that he would have loved to have coached in any era, his response was Johnny Unitas & added that he would have loved to have trained Muhammad Ali. Arians also feels that Floyd Mayweather will outpoint Manny Pacquiao when Mayweather & Pacquiao lock horns on May 2, and added that he really enjoys coming out to Celebrity Fight Night every year because it?s for a great cause and it?s for the champ. Gennady Golovkin, 160 pound champion along with Tom Loeffler were also in attendance and in our conversation, Golovkin said he would love nothing more than to get it on with Miguel Cotto or Canelo Alvarez but right now he is focused on Willie Monroe Jr. I mentioned to Golovkin that Monroe has a little bit of that Lara style to him so it can turn into a catch me if you can affair. Triple G responded by saying that he will do what he always does, and that?s to cut the ring off, adjust, and execute. Golovkin also mentioned to me that he doesn?t feel that Chavez Jr really wants it with him and that himself and Tom were beyond excited to be here for Muhammad Ali to honor the champ and also because it?s for a great cause and foundation.
