If you think Floyd Mayweather Jr. is going to come off as a rude dude with an attitude when he goes face to face with Manny Pacquiao at their Los Angeles press conference Wednesday, then brace yourself.
It says here that this will turn out to be a Mayweather Charm Offensive as he shares the stage with the Pinoy Idol in advance of their May 2 Lollapalooza in Las Vegas.
There’s no need for Mayweather to chafe Pacman, no reason to rub him and his legion of worldwide followers the wrong way.
The event is not just sold, it is oversold. It’s going to be an all-time record breaker and thus “Money” does not need to do that math.
Arrogant Mayweather? He won’t be seen or heard from at LA Live. Haughty Floyd? He will also be noticeably absent from the red carpet proceedings.
Floyd’s good conduct will probably subside by fight week and you can expect some digs, perhaps an insult or three, by then but for this invitation only presser, Mayweather will treat Pacquiao like an equal.
He won’t badmouth or denigrate this guy who is taking the 60-40 short end of the money bags.
In fact, I bet we even see some Mayweather humor, or attempts at same, when he is on the mike.
