MANILA, Philippines ? Ana Julaton made a successful return to the boxing ring by outpointing Yolanda Segura in their rematch on Saturday, March 7 (PH Time) at the Hotel Holiday Inn in Durango, Mexico.
The 34-year-old Julaton dominated Segura in six rounds of their featherweight encounter to claim a unanimous decision from the judges with the identical scores of 60-54 across the board.
According to her trainer Angelo Reyes, Julaton did not show signs of ring rust as she dictated the pace all throughout the bout.
Julaton last competed in boxing gloves in November 2013 when she routed Perla Hernandez via majority decision, but she remained active in the fight scene by inking an exclusive contract with ONE Fighting Championship, where she competed in three mixed martial arts matches last year.
?Yolanda Segura wanted an exchange with Ana and threw a lot of inside tactics, but Ana remained controlled the proceedings with her jabs,? Reyes said about Julaton, who moved up in weight to face Segura in a rematch.
Reyes also disclosed that Julaton might get an opportunity to challenge Yulihan Alejandra Luna Avila for the IBF women?s super bantamweight championship in her next outing. – Rappler.com
