Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao have been talking, talking, and talking some more. There have been reports that the fight was all but done — imminent. There have been reports that it wasn’t even halfway there. It has been considered on, it has been considered off.
One way or the other, we’re going to get some kind of announcement soon.
According to a report by Gareth A Davies at The Telegraph, Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao have come to full terms for a May 2 bout in Las Vegas, where they would split $250 million, 60% to Mayweather and 40% to Pacquiao. That report says that Pacquiao has signed the contracts, and that they were headed to Mayweather for him to do the same, with an announcement in the coming days.
But that report is, of course, being disputed via various sources.
So if you were hoping for a Valentine’s Day gift from the boxing Gods, it appears that Mayweather-Pacquiao is still just in the negotiation stage, despite any of the talk out there that it’s a done deal. That doesn’t mean it’s not a done deal, of course, but pump the brakes.
