“That’s not true,” stated undefeated pound-for-pound king Floyd Mayweather, who once again refuted reports that a deal has been finalized for the long-awaited mega-fight between himself and 8-division world champion Manny Pacquiao. Mayweather made the revelation during a brief interview at the NBA All-Star game, which is ironic considering that it was erroneously reported by multiple sites that he would announce the fight during the game.
“I haven’t signed yet and he hasn’t signed yet. It’s just been speculation and rumors, but hopefully we can make the fight happen,” Mayweather added, shooting down a report that was published in a UK newspaper on Saturday suggesting that Pacquiao had already signed an agreement. Although Mayweather’s comments make it clear that a deal has yet to be finalized, FightHype.com has been advised that both sides are still working on finalizing some minor network details and a deal could be close.
