Manny Pacquiao has responded through a tweet to Floyd Mayweather telling him not to be “a humbug, and give fans the fight they want’. The tweet was put out after Mayweather challenged the Filipino to a fight during an interview on Friday asking for the bout to take place May 2, 2015. Mayweather had said he “absolutely” wants to fight Pacquiao, laying all the blame for the fight not happening yet on Pacquiao and his promoter Bob Arum. Mayweather also stated Tuesday that he would prefer to fight Pacquiao than British welterweight Amir Khan, but would “not be baited into a slugging” match with Pacquiao. Nothing is definite yet in the three-man triangle involving Khan, Mayweather and Pacquiao. Khan, a free agent in negotiating terms, says he would like his next fight scheduled “by mid-January”.
@FloydMayweather, don’t be a boxing humbug. Let’s give the fans the fight they want. They have waited long enough.
