NEXY year will be a busy one for ALA Promotions, as it tries to break into the US market.
After making its first international event in Dubai this year, ALA Promotions will invade the US with three events planned for 2015.
ALA Promotions will hold two smaller Idol events, one in May headlined by unbeaten Mark Magsayo and the other featuring fast-rising prospect Albert Pagara. The big Pinoy Pride event will be in September, which will be a Philippines vs. Mexico show.
?The Idol USA event will be headlined by Magsayo in San Francisco, Albert Pagara in San Diego by June. The big event will be in September at Stub Hub, Carson, California, Philippines vs. Mexico. I already spoke to Gabby and Raffy Lopez, owners of ABS-CBN and TFC, who will be very involved in marketing the event worldwide. We plan to have Idol USA, Pinoy Pride and an international event involving different fighters starting 2015 and in the next 10 years,? ALA Promotions president Michael Aldeguer told Sun.Star Cebu.
It was in 2010 when ALA Promotions announced its plans to go global and slowly it is becoming a reality. ALA Promotions had a successful international boxing show in Dubai last September, wherein the Dubai World Trade Center was sold out.
ALA Promotions intends to stage more shows in the US and establish a name there.
?The US plan will not just be an event but will help the Fil-Ams and our fighters be exposed in the US and not just in the Philippines. Three events in 2015, four in 2016 and hopefully more in the coming years. What ALA Boxing did in the Philippines, we hope to do it in the US in the next 10 years. We also plan to set up an ALA Gym in California,? said Aldeguer. ?For the US plan it won?t just be a one-time event but to bring ALA to the US, both the gym and our promotions company. We will have an office in the US, too, that?s why we are looking at three events next year.?
