NBA - - Golden State Warriors fall short against the Charlotte Hornets 93-87 during Filipino Heritage Night By Ryan Medida PhilBoxing.com Sun, 03 Nov 2019  Chase Center, San Francisco -- Filipinos and fans alike flooded the newly opened Chase Center Arena to celebrate the Warriors' Filipino heritage night Saturday. Fans from all around the Bay Area joined the festivities featuring different Filipino food. Various local community groups also showcased traditional Filipino dances prior to tip-off and concluded a halftime show as well. I ran into an old high school friend whose daughter was one of the performers of the pre-game show. The game was different from what we were use to watching from the last five seasons. It was a night with no single household name who suited up for the Golden State Warriors. We all know about Klay Thompson's injury from last year's NBA Finals when he torn his ACL. Stephen Curry fractured his left hand just 2 days ago against the young Phoenix Suns team to open the 4 game home stand. Draymond Green was scratched off today with a left index finger sprain. And the newest Warrior D’angelo Russell, was the latest to be sidelined with a right ankle sprain. “I just spoke to him, he’s not going to play. He was in a lot of pain this morning. He rolled/tweaked his ankle last night and it got worse overnight, so he is out tonight,” Kerr said on his pregame interview when asked about Russell. 
It is only the sixth game of a long season and it is the story thus far. A Warrior team that made five straight NBA Finals and winning 3 NBA championships plagued with injuries. The second team Warriors played a competitive game, led by Eric Paschall 25 points. They led for the first three quarters, but the young inexperienced Warriors could not secure a crucial rebound to give a the team the final position for the go ahead bucket, subsequently gave more free throws that secured the game for the visiting Hornets, 93-87. The rebuilding Charlotte Hornets is heading home to face the Indiana Pacers on Tuesday, Nov 5th. Meanwhile the Golden State Warriors have one more game at home against the Portland Trailblazers on November 4th Monday, hoping for the first home victory at Chase Center. (R.M.)
