OAKLAND -- Kevin Durant became the 44th player in NBA history to score 20,000 points on Wednesday night. And he reached the milestone as the second youngest cog behind LeBron James.
But the celebration was muted by veteran sharpshooter Lou Williams, who scored 50 points as the Los Angeles Clippers stunned the Golden State Warriors, 125-106. at a packed Oracle Arena.
Durant finished with 40 points and 10 rebounds while ZaZa Pachulia had 12. No other Warriors scored in double figures and the Clippers ran away late. Splash Brothers Steph Curry (ankle) and Klay Thompson (rest) didn't suit up.
"He ordered 50-piece nuggets on us tonight. Lou got it going," Durant told ESPN.com
Williams, who entered the NBA in 2005 and has played for six teams, was simply unstoppable. He drilled 16 of 27 field goals, including 8 triples. And he made all 10 of his free throws.
Tyrone Wallace had 22 points, Montrzl Harrell added 20 while DeAndre Jordan contributed 10 points and 12 boards as the Clippers shot a high 49.5 percent from the field.
Lou Williams, an old-timer with a sweet shooting touch, torched the Warriors for 50 points on Wednesday night at the Oracle Arena where the Clippers stunned Golden State, 125-106.
