CHICAGO -- It was business as usual for the Chicago Bulls Friday night when they routed the Milwaukee Bucks at the United Center.
Kirk Hinrich and Jimmy Butler each had 17 points while Carlos Boozer pitched in 14 points, 11 rebounds and five assists and the host Bulls had little trouble dispatching the overmatched Bucks, the worst team in the NBA this season with a 14-62 record.
The collaborative efforts of power forward Taj Gibson and point guard D.J. Augustin were also huge as the reserve duo combined for 27 points, six boards and six helpers. Center Joakim Noah, meanwhile, had another workmanlike 11 points and 13 rebounds.
Leading by as many as 20 points, the Bulls won their fourth in a row and they head to Washington Saturday night to face the Wizards in a preview of what could possibly be a first-round playoffs series between the two teams.
With a 44-32 won-lost record, the Bulls are tied with the Toronto Raptors in the race for the third seed in the Eastern Conference.
The Bucks made only 31 of 68 field goals for 45.6 percent and fared even worse from 3-point range, 2-for-8. The Bucks have lost four in a row.
Brandon Knight scored a team-high 22 points with three assists for Milwaukee. Jeff Adrien finished with 21 but the undermanned Bucks played without the injured Ersan Ilyasova, O.J. Mayo, and Nate Wolters. (KG)
