Mabait 116 lbs, Hern?ndez 117 for WBO Inter-Continental Belt in M?xico

Filipino WBO Bantamwight Inter-Continental Champion Marvin Mabait (L) of Zamboanga, scaled-in at 116 lbs while Mexican challenger Alejandro "Payasito" Hern?ndez (R) made 117 lbs ahead of their televised 12-rounder battle Friday March 28 (Saturday morning in the Philippines) at Foro Polanco in Ciudad de Mexico.

The clash will be the second one for Mabait in Mexican soil. In his first rumble in the land of Salvador Sanchez, the fast Zamboangue?o southpaw scalped Mexican Johnny "Laberinto" Garc?a in just 36 seconds; and now he wants more.

Mabait (19-1-2, 13 KO's) is ranked WBO # 6 bantamweight, a weight class where the world champion is the unbeaten Japanese Tomoki "El Mexicanito" Kameda (29-0, 18 KO's).

The other three FIlipinos in the WBO bantamweight rankings are: WBO # 9 Marlon "Maranding Nightmare" Tapales (24-2, 9 KO's) of Lanao del Norte; WBO #12 Alie "Demolition Man" Laurel (11-3, 7 KO's) of Gensan, and WBO #15 AJ "Bazooka" Banal (30-2-1, 21 KO's) of Cebu.

The Mabait VS Hern?ndez 12-rounder is a production of Cuban promoter Felix "Tutico" Zabala Jr., of All Star Boxing in association with Producciones Deportivas and RB Producciones to be televised LIVE on Claro Sports in M?xico and Cadena Telemundo in the United States.
