PANONCILLO, BAYLESS TO WORK SALIDO-CRUZ DUEL IN VEGAS

Panoncillo.

WBO executive Leon Panoncillo, head of the boxing body's Asia region, has been appointed as supervisor to the important undercard of the Juan Manuel Marquez versus Timothy Bradley showdown at the Thomas and Mack Center in Las Vegas this weekend.

The Hawaii-raised Panoncillo will supervise the battle for the vacant WBO featherweight title between ex-champ Orlando Salido and Orlando Cruz.

Third man on the ring will be renowned referee Kenny Bay less, while judges tasked to score the fight are Jerry Roth, Glenn Trowbridge and Ed Kubler.

Las Vegas is still smarting from the result of the Floyd Mayweather-Canelo Alvarez officiating, where one of the judges saw it a draw.

The WBO has made sure only the best officials will work on the card.

For the Marquez-Bradley bout for the WBO welterweight crown, no less than WBO president Paco Valcarcel will serve as the supervisor, while referee is the very capable Robert Byrd.

Judges are Robert Hoyle, Patricia Morse Jarman and Glenn Feldman.
