LAS VEGAS--Just hours ago, Bobby Pacquiao failed to make weight when he came in at 133 lbs at the official weigh-in held at the Monterrey Room of the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino here, thus forfeiting his WBC Continental Americas superfeatherweight title at the scales.
Hector Velazquez came in at a trim 129 lbs, hence, if he comes out victorious tomorrow, he will be declared the new champion, while a Pacquiao victory means the title will remain vacant.
The official weigh-in was supervised by Nevada State Athletic Commission Executive Director Keith Kizer.
Kizer revealed that for failing to make weight, Pacquiao would have to also forfeit a percentage of his purse, although he will not be asked to wear bigger gloves.
Velazquez, however, insisted on a bigger amount to be deducted off Paquiao's purse.
