CALOOCAN CITY TO HOST DODIE BOY JR. FIGHT IN JANUARY 2012

Caloocan City Mayor Recom Echiverri signed a memorandum of agreement with GerryPens Promotions today for the City?s hosting of Dodie Boy Pe?alosa Jr?s next fight. The City is celebrating its 50th anniversary next year and part of its celebration highlights is the staging of the boxing match between Dodie Boy Jr. against a yet to be announced foreign opponent.

According to the very dynamic mayor, this event is just the first of the many boxing matches to be staged in Caloocan. He promised that the fight will fill up any venue in the city and that the people will give their all out support to the activity.

According to boxing legend and promoter Gerry Pe?alosa, ?The people of Caloocan are well known boxing fanatics. I have no doubt that the fight will be a barn burner especially that this is also being supported by the country?s premier TV Network GMA 7. I am very honored to bring the fight of my nephew Dodie Boy Jr. to the City of Caloocan. He will be facing a tough foreign opponent most probably a Korean fighter this time.?

Also present in the MOA signing were Caloocan City Administrator Russel Ramirez, GMA 7?s Chino Trinidad, Ring Magazine?s Ryan Songalia and other members of the media.
