ALA Promotions fighter and WBO Asia Pacific Super Bantamweight Champion Kenichi Yamaguchi of Osaka, Japan will be fighting the fight of his life as he is set to challenge newly crowned WBO Featherweight World Champion Orlando Salido in Mexico.
The July 23, 2011 world championship fight will be an event of firsts as this will be Yamaguchi's first world title challenge and will likewise be Salido's first defense of his title. The bout will be held in Centro de Usos Multiples, Ciudad Obregon, Sonora, Mexico.
Yamaguchi (W 17 (KO 4) L 1 D 2) recently signed up with the Philippines ALA Promotions as part of the Philippines premier boxing promotions plans of steering the organization towards more fights abroad in 2012.
ALA Promotions has been signing up and promoting fighters not just in the Philippines but the world over promoting these fighters in their PINOY PRIDE international boxing series partnering with the Philippines biggest network television ABS-CBN Sports which shows these said fights worldwide through the global reach of ABS-CBN's The Filipino Channel with links in the United States, Europe, UAE and Asia.
In 2011 alone, ALA Promotions has given chances to fighters to fight for world titles like two time world champion from Japan Katsunari Takayama, Rommel Asenjo, Edrin Dapudong and now Kenichi Yamaguchi. Team Yamaguchi are with ALA Promotions Vice President for International Affairs and Business Development Dennis Canete and Team Takayama who is in full support for the WBO Asia Pacific Super Bantamweight Champion.
