Jimrex Jaca annexed the Philippine super-featherweight title Friday night in Maasin City, stopping Samuel Duran at the 2:44 mark of the second round in their scheduled 12-round bout.
Jaca sent Duran down in the opening round with a shot to the mid-section, then finished off his overmatched foe with a right cross to the chin, prompting referee Tony Pesons to stop the carnage.
Both Jaca and Duran were paid P50,000 each for the effort.
In other bouts, Rey Llagas stopped Rey Destriza; Alex Aroy and Noel Veronque figured in a second-round technical draw; Apol Suico stopped Eddie Villegas; Armando Casa decisioned Gedion Amba; Edwin Ramugan decisioned Abner Llanasa.
The event was supported by Congressman Butch Pichay.
