Jimrex Jaca, the former OPBF superbantam champ, goes for the vacant RP super-featherweight title as he takes on no. 3 Samuel Duran of Bukidnon in a 12-round shootout on November 12 in Dumaguete City.
Jaca and Duran duke it out for the title recently vacated by now WBC Continental Americas super-featherweight boss Bobby Pacquiao, who is himself gunning for an earth-shaking win on October 8 against former world champ Carlos "Famoso" Hernandez in Las Vegas.
Jaca (23-1-1, 10 KO's) is expected to enjoy hometown support, being a native of Sibulan, some 8 kilometers north of Dumaguete City.
However, the southpaw Jaca is expected to be up against a capable veteran in Duran, touted as the first man to beat Gerry Penalosa.
Duran, a 98-fight veteran fighting out of the Leonil Lazarito Stable in Valencia, Bukidnon, is coming off a points win over Benjie Canete last August 25 in Valencia City.
