MUAY THAI instructor Alton John Fuentes of Davao City is now ready to face Rex Cabudbud of Nueva Ecija in the “Sta. Lucia Barrio Brawls” on April 25 at the Entertainment Center in Sta. Lucia East Mall. Cainta, Rizal.
The 39-year-old Fuentes, who teaches Muay Thai at Elorde Gym Davao, had a sudden change of opponent.
“It's OK as long as he can make the weight of 52 kilos,” said Fuentes.
Fuentes did not even ask why he had a sudden change of opponent.
Fuentes, who has a 2-2 record in the MMA, lost in his last fight held in iFlex Gym.
Fuentes said that his opponent has a lot of experience in juego todo.
“But it's ok because I also trained well today,” said Fuentes.
“Juego todo is beautiful and can challenge everyone including arnis and MMA,” said Fuentes.
“It’s come back for me to fight after a long rest,” said Fuentes.
Fuentes fought arnis in high school and never lost in Davao.
“That's why I don't have no doubt. I want to try my moves again in arnis,” said Fuentes.
Fuentes will depart to Manila on April 24 early morning and will be joined by Limuel Malinao of Mawab and pro MMA fighter Dennis Quiñonero of Mati City.
Malinao will also make his debut as an amateur juego todo while Quiñonero will make his first pro fight in juego todo in the main event.
The event is presented by Latayan Hybrid Corporation with Ferdinand Munsayac as the fight director.
