NATIONAL masters Keith Adriane Ilar and James Infiesto will also be joining the 14th Atty. Jong Guevarra Cup Mindanao Chess Challenge Open category on April 11 at the Atrium of Gaisano Mall in Toril.
“Ilar, who is from St. Joseph Academy of El Salvador is seeded no. 3 while Infiesto is ranked no. 10,” said Atty. Jong Guevarra.
Infiesto of Davao City is also the head coach of the Philippine Para Chess Team.
“There are now five National Masters,” said Guevarra.
Top seed NM Macacuna Macala comes from Davao while ranked no. 2 NM Henry Roger Lopez hails from Panabo City.
NM Winston Joseph Silva, who comes from Panabo but is now a coach in Thailand, is seeded no. 16.
Meanwhile, Bradkint Gayramon of Capitol University of Cagayan de Oro City is the top seed in the Kiddies category.
Second is Jerell Andre Perocho of Davao City Special School followed by Brantnel Gayramon also of CDO.
More than P100,000 in cash prizes are at stake.
