BANTAMWEIGHT Mican “Child Prodigy” Olmillo of Panabo City will fight Christian Jay Boquiren of Kidapawan City in the Reality Fighting League [RFL] on April 18 at the RFL New Arena in Tahimik Drive, Matina, Davao City.
The 18-year-old Olmillo, who is managed by Coach Tyrone Billones, regularly trains in Panabo.
“I do cross-training in Nabunturan and Tagum and sometimes sleep right in the gym,” said Olmillo.
Olmillo, who graduated a senior high school in Panabo City SHS, has a lot of different coaches from different disciplines.
His main sparring partner is Noel Rosales, a rising contender and one of the best flyweights in Mindanao in MMA.
“But I had a lot of sparring partners in my main gym,” said Olmillo, who weighs 135 lbs.
Olmillo’s style comes from different discipline - boxing, wrestling, Jiu Jitsu and Muay Thai.
“Let's put on a great show, and expect the unexpected,” said Olmillo's message to Boquiren.
Olmillo wants “to showcase the deadlier, sharper, and more skilled version of him in this fight and entertain a lot of people and probably show what denomination looks like.”
“It would be a great fight between the younger generation vs a veteran who did this for a year already,” he said.
Olmillo is currently a 5-1 record in MMA. In his last fight, Olmillo won by R1 Referee Stoppage last March 14.
“I'm excited to bring the skills of what the new generation looks like,” said Olmillo.
