SEAG Davao-based athletes eye International stints

MARC Alexander Lim and Simon Servillon, who recently saw action in the 2025 Southeast Asian Games will seek more national and international competitions in order to improve their skills and get another chance to see action in the next edition of the Games.

Lim, who bagged a bronze medal in Jiu-Jitsu will join in the 2026 National Jiu-Jitsu Trials set this February.

He will also participate in the Asian Indoor Martial Arts Games and probably in the 2026 Jiu-Jitsu World Championships.

“Last year’s SEAG was my fourth time. Every year, I seek to improve my skills by joining these national and international competitions,” said Lim at the weekly Davao Sportswriters Association (DSA) Forum, Thursday, 8 January.

Lim, who trains at the Limitless Martial Arts and Fitness Gym also coaches the Davao City Jiu-Jitsu team which competes in the Batang Pinoy Games.

On the other hand, Servillon fell short at the winner’s podium by placing fourth in the 2025 SEAG Downhill Cycling competition.

“I’ve learned a lot from last year’s SEAG. It was my first time and will try to improve my skills for another shot at the top spot,” Servillon said.

He also plans to join the 2026 Asian Mountainbike Series in which he can earn his ticket to the World Mountainbike Championships. (Lito delos Reyes with reports from Jon Develos/DSA)
