Undaloc Jr. leads BBG 300 Ultra Marathon

VIRGILIO Undaloc Jr. of Catbalogan City led the country’s longest footrace – 2nd BBG 300 Ultra Marathon that started yesterday, August 1 in General Santos City going to Davao.

Undaloc, who also ruled last year’s inaugural race, made a needed rest after reaching the 100-kilometer in Malita, Davao Occidental.

Undaloc clocked 11 hours, 53 minutes, 20 second upon reaching the 100km.

He was leading by five kilometers against second placer Adam Jovane of Team SCTR.

Undaloc will try to make the next 100 early the 2nd day.

He was eating a native fruit called “marang” while taking a much-needed rest.

Undaloc had a brief talk with race director Roel Amabao-Ano of BBG Run.

“It's a bit difficult and hot, but we manage. It's a bit warm. But since it will cool down already because it's night, our time will be extended,” said Undaloc.

Undaloc, who was born in Cebu City, plans to get the next 100-kilometer before or after the 24 hours.

He is wearing blue jogging pants, a jacket, green t-shirt and a black cap.

Undaloc recently joined the Legaspi City to Naga City 100km.

Meanwhile, Russel Casleb was leading the female runners as of press time.

The race will end on August 3 at Lupon, Davao Oriental.

They will pass Digos City to Davao City then to Panabo, Carmen, Pantukan and ending at Lupon in Davao Oriental,

It is organized by BBG Run Events and powered by the Davao Ultra Runners Club.
