THE Philippine Football Federation [PFF] has started conducting the national tryouts in Mindanao for the Under 16 Boy’s team that will see action in the Asean Football Federation [AFF] U16 Boys Championship in Indonesia.
“We have conducted tryouts in Agusan [May 3], Davao [May 4] and Koronadal [May 5],” said Coach Albert Ryan “Abing” Lim of PFF Mindanao.
They are sleeping in General Santos City on May 6 before they will proceed to Dipolog City for the final tryout at the Dipolog Sports Complex on May 8.
At least 93 aspiring players attended the Davao City tryout held at the University of the Philippines Mindanao Sports Complex last May 4 in Mintal.
It was conducted by the pool of coaches headed by Japanese coach Yuki Matsuda.
It was also attended by coach David Javellana, Arman Valencia, Rachelle Delos Reyes and Lim.
The Davao tryout was supported by the Department of Human Kinetics and the office of Congressman Isidro Ungab.
Qualified are those born on or after January 2008.
The coaches are joined in Dipolog by Weng Sasuman and Jessy Boy Mourinho.
Fifteen players coming from all over the Philippines will form the trailing pool.
