WBC Asian Silver bantamweight champion Herlan “Negros Hitman” Gomez is now in Malaysia to train for his fight scheduled on June 1 at the SMX Convention in Bacolod City.
The event will be promoted by JRG Promotions, in collaboration with Citizens Action for Productive Motives (CAPM) for the "Rise of Heroes".
The 24-year-old Gomez is also in Malaysia to help Daeloniel “Kidlat Boy” McDelon Bong prepare for his fight for the World Boxing Championship (WBC) Asia Silver Super Bantamweight Championship that will be held at the Petra Jaya Multipurpose Stadium on May 11.
Gomez is helping Bong for his fight against Yutthichai Wannawong of Thailand for the WBC Asia Silver Super Bantamweight Championship.
Gomez of Negros Occidental is being accompanied by coach Reynaldo Inocian with help of Sarawak Amateur Boxing Association (SABA) headed by president Dato Rahman Lariwoo and Sarawak Sukma XXI boxing team manager Jamal Shaikh Abdullah.
In his last fight, Gomez knocked out Komgrich Nantapeh of Thailand in the 1st round for the WBC Asian Silver bantamweight title last September 29, 2023 at Spaceplus Bangkok RCA in Bangkok.
Gomez currently has 11 wins with one loss and eight knockouts. His opponent will be announced next week by international matchmaker Brico Santig.
