Saturday night in Melbourne Arena on a Peter Maniatis Events and Kings of Kombat card Philippines Jhun Rick Carcedo suffered a 2nd Round TKO loss to the hands of undefeated Uzbekistan boxer Jakhongir Rasulov.
The fight scheduled for eight rounds at super lightweight started well in the first round with Carcedo landing some big punches and was winning most of the exchanges to win the first round.
In the second round Rasulov moved up the gears and started to trade punches with Carcedo, this was the beginning of the end for Carcedo who walked into a big right hand that dropped him to the canvas.
Carcedo rose at 6 to beat the count and was allowed to continue until Rasulov trapped him in the corner and unleashed a flurry punches to force the referee to stop the fight and awarded Rasulov the winner via TKO 2nd Round.
Rasulov moves his record to 5-0 and Carcedo drops to 9-2.
The night also celebrated Patrick Cusick and the WBC awarded Peter Maniatis with the WBC Australasia Promoter of The Year 2022.

“Peter Maniatis has been a long standing respect promoter around the world and the WBC Australiasia would like to acknowledge Peter for all his efforts especially during Covid period with the 2022 Promoter of the year,” said WBC Supervisor Patrick Cusick.
