Noynay to defend WBO Asia Pacific title against dangerous Shimizu

DAVAO CITY ? Newly-crowned World Boxing Organization Asia Pacific super featherweight champion Joe ?Jaw Breaker? Noynay of Cebu will make his first title defense against dangerous undefeated Satoshi Shimizu of Japan on July 12 at EDION Arena in Osaka, Japan.

The 23-year old Noynay (17W-2L-1D, 6KO) TKO?d Kosuke Saka of Japan for the vacant WBO Asia Pacific super featherweight last April 20 in EDION Arena.

Noynay earlier won the WBO Asia Pacific Youth super featherweight and vacant World Boxing Council Asia Boxing Council Silver super featherweight title by a technical decision on Jinxiang Pan of China in Zhongshan, China.

He defended it twice the WBO Asia Pacific Youth super featherweight against Hector Garcia (majority decision) and Qixiu Zhang (TKO?d 8th round).

The 33-year old Shimizi (8W-0L, 8KO) defended its Orient and Pacific Boxing Federation featherweight title by TKO over Takuya Uehara in Korakuen Hall last Dec. 3, 2018.

Shimizu took the OPBF title from Sa Myung Noh of South Korea by TKO in the 5th round last Oct. 2, 2017.

He defended it successfully against the Philippines? Eduardo Mancito (7th round TKO), South Korea?s Kyung Min Kwon (8th round TKO) and Japan?s Shingo Kawamura (4th round TKO).

Meanwhile, Jonathan Taconing (28W-3L-1D, 22KO) of the Philippines will challenge WBC World light flyweight champion Ken Shiro (15W-0L, 8KO) of Japan while WBA World middleweight champion Rob Brant (25W-1L, 17KO) of USA will defend his title against Ryota Murata (14W-2L, 11KO) of Japan in the same card.
