SANMAN?S ABDULHAMID READY FOR NOV 2 SHOWDOWN IN CHINA

Adam Diu Abdulhamid of the Sanman Gym of Gen. Santos City left for China Sunday Oct. 29 for his fight against former world title challenger Ik Yang in Chongqing.

Abdulhamid (11W-4L, 4KO?s) will try to score a win abroad after suffering losses in Thailand and Russia to Apinan Kongsong and Georgi Chelokhsaev respectively. The 22 year old Abdulhamid last year had wins against Filipino boxers Eusebio Baluarte, Marjhun Tabamo and Raymond Yanong.

The 32 year old Yang (19W-2L,12KO?s), from Dalian, China, was a familiar face in Macau when Top Rank and Seca were promoting big fights at the Cotai Arena. Two years ago, he lost in his bid to win the vacant IBF world junior welterweight title when he was outpointed by Argentinian Cesar Cuenca in Macau.

Yang has been inactive for more than a year since he lost by TKO to Australian Leonardo Zappavigna in Las Vegas. Yang has previously held the IBF Pan Pacific and WBO Asia Pacific belts.

Abdulhamid is travelling with Sanman head trainer Romeo Desabille. They will take a connecting flight via Xiamen to Chongqing.

Sanman Promotions CEO Jim Claude Manangquil told philboxing that ?Abdulhamid is 100 percent ready and just 2 pounds over the weight limit.?
