Filipino boxer Engelbert Moralde weighed 117lbs while Mexican Kenbun Torres was at 118 lbs for the official weigh-in for their non-title contest which will be held today at L-Theatre, Osaka, Japan.
In an e-mail statement to philboxing Moralde stated:
I am ready for tomorrow's fight. This is my first fight abroad and I'm going do everything to win."
Sanman Promotions CEO Jim Claude Manangquil informed philboxing of the weights. The 24 year old Moralde (9W-3L,6KO?s) bounced back from his split decision loss to Joyjoy Formentera last year with a unanimous decision victory against Jun Eraham in Tupi, South Cotabato last September.
The 29 year old Torres (11W-2L,9KO?s) was born in Celaya, Mexico but his last 12 fights were held in Japan after losing in his pro debut in Mexico in 2003.
