NBA -- C.J. McCollum named Most Improved Player

CHICAGO -- Portland Trail Blazers shooting guard C.J. McCollum has been named KIA Most Improved Player for the just concluded 2015-16 NBA regular season.

McCollum garnered 101 first-place votes for a total of 559 points, besting second placer Kemba Walker of the Charlotte Hornets (166 points) and Giannis Antetokounmpo (99 points) of the Milwaukee Bucks. The award was voted on by 130 sportswriters and broadcasters covering the NBA in the USA and Canada.

The 6-foot-4, 200 pound McCollum was the 13th pick of the 2013 NBA draft. A Lehigh University alum, he averaged 20.8 points in 80 games this season, a robust 14-point jump from his scoring average last season. (HDS)
