LOS ANGELES -- Shooting just 36.8 percent from the field doesn't win too many NBA games. But if was enough for the Los Angeles Lakers on Tuesday night.
Lou Williams finished with 19 points while Jordan Clarkson added 18 points as the Lakers tripped the New Orleans Pelicans, 95-91, on Tuesday night at Staples Center.
Rookie D'Angelo Russell pitched in 13 points and the Lakers won for the ninth time this season despite hitting just 32 of 87 shots. Julius Randle and Larry Nance Jr. combined for 15 points and 14 rebounds.
"Young guys are starting to get a little resilient. They're starting to learn. We've been saying this for the past couple of weeks," Lakers head coach Byron Scott told NBA.com after his team broke a four-game losing slump.
Kobe Bryant, who is playing his 20th and final season in the NBA, had only seven points on 3-of-9 shooting. He left late in the second quarter and did not return due to a sore Achilles tendon. Bryant played for just 15 minutes and 44 seconds.
Tyreke Evans topped New Orleans with 21 points .Ryan Anderson had 15 and 7 boards while Eric Gordan and Jrue Holiday finished with 13 apiece. All-Star Anthony Davis did not play due to a bruised back.
The Pelicans, losers of four straight, fell to11-26 for the season.
